“The only path that can carry me home is the path of self-compassion.”

- Tara Brach

As a certified IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist, I help clients who are needing support with behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and patterns that are causing pain, keeping them stuck, or creating issues in their lives and relationships. Bringing a curious and compassionate presence to the therapy work, my role is to guide my clients to better understand all the parts of themselves that are contributing to their issues as well as helping them to reconnect with strengths and capacities that are already exist within them. Through this gentle and respectful process, clients begin to develop more insight and compassion for themselves and their story, leading to a life with more choice, balance, and connection. Inspired by the healing messages of IFS and Buddhist Meditation, I wrote the children’s book, Heart of Gold, about the essential goodness in all of us.

I also provide individual, family and group grief therapy. As a survivor of suicide loss, I run a monthly in person bereavement group for adults in the DMV who have also lost a loved one to suicide. I have completed my Level 1 certification in grief therapy with the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition and currently am working towards a specialty in traumatic loss.

Before entering private practice in 2018, I provided treatment in a range of settings, from crisis intervention to long-term treatment for clients in all stages of life and from diverse backgrounds. During my graduate school placements at Sunset Mental Health Clinic in San Francisco and Mann Residential Treatment Center at Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore, I gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of mental health concerns, including Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma. I then worked at a local independent school serving children with Autism and Learning Disabilities ages 6-18.
